Butter Cookies

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/3 teaspoon


  1. Take a bowl, mix butter and white sugar together until well blended and fluffy. In another bowl beat the egg and stir some vanilla in it. Add the flour and salt to it. Stir it into the sugar mixture.

  2. Cover the dough loosely with a plastic wrap, foil or towel. Let it chill for at least one to two hour. Chill the cookie sheets as well.

  3. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the shapes from the dough. Place it over the ungreased, chilled cookie sheets.

  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edge is just golden brown.
